Rolling Road Diagnostics

We are being asked on an almost daily basis for Rolling Road runs to check that the vehicle is performing as it should, sometimes the request is because the car doesn't seem to be performing as it should, other times modifications have been made but the expected increase is not being experienced.

We are able to drive the vehicle on the rolling road in the same way that the car is driven on the road, we can even load the vehicle to simulate any situation, such as cruising or heavy load simulating uphill travel. At the same time we can connect our gas analysers and also wideband o2 or Lambda sensors and pretty much any other input and output, such as pressure, temperature, vacuum, load and any sensor or actuator on the vehicle, such as wastegate and VVT  (Varyable Valve Timing). This enables us to see any problems in real-time and even playback the data-recording afterwards to further analyse the information.

All the logging of the vehicle performance is also available for examination afterwards as well as in real time during runs, we can even zoom in on the data to determine the cause of any glitches and hiccups in the power band. We also have the data recorded for all the vehicles that we have run previously, this means that we normally have reference data to refer to.
